First Tee Lehigh Valley & Berks Golf Outing Recap

A Rainy Day Couldn’t Dampen the Spirit of the Game

On Monday, August 10th, nearly 120 golfers teed off at the beautiful Golden Oaks Golf Club for our Chapter Golf Outing, and what a day it turned out to be. Between the great company, generous supporters, and a course in gorgeous condition, this year’s outing was a true celebration of everything First Tee Lehigh Valley and Berks stands for.

Mother Nature had other plans for a full 18 holes, and rain shortened play to 11 holes per group. But our golfers showed the same resilience and good sportsmanship we work to instill in the young people we serve, sticking around, laughing off the weather, and settling in to enjoy a great meal together. A huge thank you to the entire Golden Oaks staff, who worked hard all day to adjust on the fly and make sure every guest still had a great experience despite the conditions.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors and golfers, the day raised more than $34,000 in gross proceeds to support First Tee programming across the Lehigh Valley and Berks County. Every dollar raised goes directly toward giving kids access to golf, mentorship, and the life skills that stay with them well beyond the course.

A special thank you to our sponsors:

Our Presenting Sponsor, Red Robin, who also treated golfers to a food truck on-site throughout the day. We’re also grateful to Roma Development (Cart Sponsor), the Sheftel Family (Beverage Sponsor), and our Birdie Sponsors: Penske, Quantum Financial Management, PJ Whelihan’s Restaurant Group, and Mike and Diane Duff.

Thank you as well to our Hole Sponsors, whose support made a real difference: the Tim Miksiewicz Family, Brian Farrell, QNB Bank, New Tripoli Bank, Fulton Bank, USA Pools – Tom Braun, Acme Cryogenics Alumni Team, Interior Workspace Solutions, Amazon – HEA2, and New Beginnings Dog Training, LLC.

None of this would be possible without golfers, sponsors, and friends like you showing up for our mission year after year. Thank you for making this day such a success.
